I set 28 pheasant eggs in the incubator, along with 10 turkey eggs. We'll see if the boys have been getting the job done.

Turkey eggs should be easy to candle, but how are the pheasant eggs to candle. I would expect with a dark green/brown outside, it is rather difficult. Any tips, or just leave them alone?

They are about as hard as quail eggs, for me, anyways. If you can accurately candle the stuff like Coturnix, you will have no problem with these. Just use a LED light - they work better.

What kind of eggs did you set?

I find they can be hard to candle after the first week, but by the second you can pretty easily tell if they are developing. Of course I just have an inexpensive candler, would probably be easier if I had a better one.
