so i tested the newly built bator for over a month and it worked great very steady with both hum/temp so yesterday i put in the runners and chickens they are laying on there sides on a tilting shelf but as they didnt fit in the gaps iv had to prop the shelf up and will have to had turn them the bator is currently 99.5 / 50% is this ok or does it need to be adjusted ?

Temp and humidity sounds good to start with - good that you have the eggs laying on their sides too. Is there a way to manually tilt the shelf rather then turn each egg? It could make things a little easier for you.

if i have them vertical in the shelf groovy bits some of the eggs dont fit in the gap and they would be tilting fat end to small end if i lay them long ways horizontal i suppose it would be the same as the shelf has a 45 degree angle at tilt
