A cousin sent me this photo.

It was a Timber rattlesnake, 58" long. Whew.

hi all, we are blessed with smoke from the Canadian fires. yesterday was the worst so far. our eyes and noses itched from it .
i don't like snakes very much. glad we don't have rattlers here. there is a rocky hill not far from here where people occasionally find one. i don't go there
my garden is doing great. looks like the beets and squash will do very well.
am not having any luck trapping the wood chuck
something steals the peaches i use for bait.
starting to suspect the chipmunk.
he is too light weight to trip the trigger.

wood smoke here too
other than that the weather has been fairly nice.
so I have been trying to get storm debris cut up, sorted and smaller stuff drug down to the burn pile. It was too hot and humid before. Oh dug some more of the potatoes and put cut grass over the bare spots for mulch.

smokey again today. cloudy and 68F /
trying beets for bait to catch the woodchuck
have 3 box traps set. from small , medium and large.
i pulled the pea vines out and planted radishes.
i want to try cooking radishes.
yesterday we had BLT's , compliments from the garden. can't beat the taste of a warm tomato fresh off the vine. and the lettuce is tasty, too.
the vines are at the top of the 4 1/2 foot stakes. I cut the top tips off. don't need any more vines.
Molpet, I have some trees to cut up, too. waiting for cooler weather for that.
