Set our second hatch Saturday 5/12/12

Both of you have cuties!! Bill--that is quite the brooder. Where did you get the plastic poop tray? I want to get some for my actual coop.

Thanks Becky but see? you were lucky enough to get some early action!! I have to wait a whole nother day and it is making me anxious! I know it is all good and fine but still ...!!!

Yup they are a slower to take off but seem to be resting and drying off some, one is pretty active. What about my 9 that haven't pipped? I'm thinking I give them until tomorrow night at least.

Super nice brooder!! I have a short 30 gallon water tank, it will only keep them about 2 weeks tho......

I bought back 6 of the chicks from the first 12, hatched on 4/29, yesterday. My friend had to move. But the lady with the Ameraucanas would rather those older chicks, over this hatch so that works for me. She will take her 5 Ameraucanas and the 6-5 week old LB's on Wednesday.

Helps if they are all the same age to keep together until I decide who to keep and when to separate them.

Off to do night check in the barn and then the bators. After that I'm heading to bed, hoping you have a chick or 2 by morning Avonshire!!!!!

Avonshire, Anything yet? My 2 SF in the bator expired. Final # set 41, pulled 4 at day 7 or 8, went into lock down with 37, hatched 5AM, 7LB, 8SF and 2Dorking. Not too bad, I guess!! 22 still leaves me better than 50%

Sadly still NOTHING! No movement, no peeping and no pips. My first disastrous hatch did not hatch until day 23. Today is day 21 so maybe tomorrow something will start?? A day better than the first? Why is this so hard for me?? Or maybe this afternoon babies will just start to pop out. I was up at 4:30 chceking on them(and playing tooth fairy)and I crawled back in bed to tell dh that nothing was happening. He said--patience! I hate patience! lol! Well I would if I had any!!! So what about your 9 eggs--did you consider them quitters?

Any news?

Patience is definitely NOT one of my strong points either

Avonshire. Today is day 24 for mine and I got two chicks this morning. Hang in there. I was worried that mine wouldn't hatch either.

OK I have 1 pip!! Yay--action!! Now I need to go check my spreadsheet and see how this one did during the whole incubation. I had some that looked good the whole time and some who were questionable so it will be interesting to see which ones hatch. Of course the first to pip is not necessarily the first to hatch. We will see! I am just so glad to have SOMETHING going on!
