I'm so glad that everyones hatch is moving along and producing babies . Good job everyone! I've learned this time around that hatching is so simple that it is the hardest thing ever! In theory: egg + temp+ humidity + 21 days = chick. Nope! Egg + temp + humidity+ 20-who-knows + worry worry worry + last minute problems = chicks if you're lucky lol. Everyone is doing so well though congrats!

I did clip the cord this morning. He is up and about. Not ready to come out of the bator yet though. I had a funny smell in the incubator so I took out and candled the remaining 11 eggs. There were no signs of life at all. So I went ahead and did eggtopsy on them. I had three fully formed chicks that were already dead. Four that were embryos. And the rest were not fertile. No signs of veins and all. I'm very glad I didn't wait until day 25 to do it. My house probably would have stunk.

Seeing this made my day! As first timers, we seem to get into this not expecting a whole lot to happen then things always don't turn out the way we thought! You had an excellent hatch! Congrats!!

Thank you Gen9! I couldn't be more pleased with the turn out. I never thought I'd end up with four new babies! I named the little full assist Tyson. hehehe not for the chicken, but for the fighter. DH got to laughing at me and said he was going to call the others Pilgrim, Pride, and Cagel. (Don't know if they're everywhere, but they're commercial chicken companies)

I'm preparing to joining the August hatch with everyone as well. Can't wait to see how everybody else's hatches turn out!

hi guys iv just had to toss 7 of my 10 eggs 6 were infertile and one had a blood ring and smelt terrible. hopefully the 3 remaining will make it to hatch day. there due on the 18th august
