Setting 3doz eggs tomorrow 8/11!!! Hatching buddies???

I have been dealing with no power no phone and no iternet!!

So wonderful to see all the lovely chicklets!! Congrats everyone!!

DH took my eggs to work where there is ower; he got a crash course in hatching!! Goodthing he likes chickens!

I was wondering if people who had been effected by power out had chicks or hatching...I am glad that you were able to arrange for them to continu.e and be safe...when are they due? Can you go and see them at DH work?

Ok...so I had 5 chicks hatch on Monday (4 days early?????) all doing great in the brooder...and I still have 8 eggs in the bator...well...I woke to 2 more hatched and 4 eggs that had pipped were now starting to zip.

Of course I took yesterday off work so i could be home with them and nothing happened..so they waited till i had to go back to work today to start hatching again...hopefully I'll have 8 more fluffies when I get home today....

so its day 19 and i just went into lockdown i was a day off

but i got all the eggs on the screen and i heard one chirping

and there is a peep in another egg so maybe i will have some fuzzy butts in the morning yeah

Ok so I got home just now and have three new chicks...I had three that were shrink wrapped? One was dead and I had to help two out and they are now drying off in the bator...I threw two eggs out as I couldn't hear anything!!!

So from 14 shipped eggs I started with I now have 10 ameraucana chicks...not too bad...I wish I was home earlier to help that other guy in time!

I'm hopping the two that imjust helped out make it...

I had 4 eggs from 8/11 that made it to lockdown. One Ameraucana-X has already hatched, and one of the Rosecombs has pipped. I'm hoping the other two pip tonight.

so i got up to three chicks

and one more just hatched and ive got lots of peeps and its only day 20

i will post pics when there all dry and fluffy

*sigh* The pipped egg never went farther, and died in shell, as did the other two chicks that were due to hatch today. 25% is not good. Hopefully the next batch will be better.

The 2 incubators and 2 chicks come home tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

I feel like I missed out on so much since the hurricane hit Sunday, when we lost phone and power mid-morning. It's all back up and connected as of this afternoon/evening!!! Many thanks to those who are working 24/7 to get our power back on!
