Oh I am so excited.

This evening I will set a dozen Narragansett turkey eggs. This will be my first experience with shipped eggs and turkeys for that matter and I am so anxious.

I re-sanitized my bator, having suddenly developed an irrational fear of bacteria!

I'll be using a Brinsea eco 20. My first hatch (with my own eggs, chicken and duck) went extremely well and I'm hoping this one goes well.

Anyone setting duck or turkey eggs wanna join me? I have so much anxiety about this already!! I'll need some hatching buddies for sure!

Last Saturday, the 20th , I set 14 Bourbon Red turkey eggs that I bought from a BYC member. They were packed up very well, and this time the post office didn't try to play soccer with the box. The first time I bought shipped turkey eggs, the box though packed real well, was crushed. No eggs cracked and 6 of the 13 hatched, which given the circumstances I thought was great! Especially for my first attempt at incubating.

This will be my 2nd attempt at incubating and I'm also using a Brinsea ECO 20. I was SO pleased with the ease of use with the first batch!

Tonight my neighbor is bringing over about 3 dozen chicken eggs and 2 dozen duck eggs to add to my GQF cabinet 'bator. I'm putting in 14 duck eggs of my own. Going to be a busy place around here if we're even slightly successful.

Good luck with your hatch... hope you'll keep us updated and don't forget we "need" pics when your eggs hatch! Hardest part for me is keeping my hands off the 'bators!

Well that is encouraging news about your first shipment of eggs Chance! These eggs were shipped from only about 2 hours drive away. So, I'm really hoping that they are going to do well!

I just candled a little while ago and it seems like the yolk is where the airsac should be. I don't want to freak out prematurely, but I am a little worried that they are scrambled, but I am thinking positive thoughts!

I think if I have room in the bator I'll add some of my own duck eggs. DH is in love with the ducklings I hatched earlier this month, and he's been telling me to hatch some more

Best wishes for your hatches! I set a single BR egg in the incubator with my other eggs today but it's the lone survivor of a bad hatch and it's due here shortly so I won't be waiting another stinkin 28 days - lol.

I love turkeys but that wait can kill you.

Luck to all
