Wow, these are great pictures to show the difference! It's a boy. It's a girl! I am going to have to wait on my RIR's probably about that long..8 weeks, to see the difference in their little combs and wattles.

Orpingtons, you have to love them!!

Ok now it is my turn. Just got home from work to find that one of my chicks that is not do until saturday. Pipped right threw its yolk sac and started pipping threw the egg shell. There was yolk all around the eggs.

So what do you think should I open it to help it or leave it?

You need to leave it. If it stands a chance at all it needs time to absorb it's yolk. IMHO

Anyone else?

That's what i thought. I just have never had this happen before. I will leave it.

Thanks bburn

I plan on setting my eggs on Sunday the 17th. I will be setting Cameo/India Blue Peafowl eggs, 5 of them. Maybe a few other eggs, but I'm not sure yet.

MJ, I also have something going on that hasn't ever happened before. I have had chicks with a bit of yellow yolk hanging from their little butts, but I have one that is acting "pretty" good, but it has a LOT of orange looking yolk that it is pulling around. I am just hoping that it will absorb it.
These are my Barnevelders.
