Setting (Again) April 16th-18th...

I am just waiting on my second batch of ebay eggs to arrive(hopefully tomorrow since my other arrived yesterday and were shipped the same day from close areas). As long as they arrive tomorrow, I will be setting them Saturday. I have 15 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes ready to go in the incubator, and 12+ Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and 6+ blue/black/splash Ameraucanas on the way. Hurry up Post Office!

They just hatched today..it was a lot! I put a cut down to size bandaid on it's little butt. I think it is helping. I can still see some, but I don't want it uncovered because the others pick at it. It needs the interaction with the others, but they see it, and of course go for it.
It is acting just ok. Still acting weak..guess we shall see.

thats a good idea with the bandaids. I will have to remember that.

Haha I love those kind too...however I am on night shift end of that set up and no daddy!

Hey all,
Just pulled up our incubator from the basement and suprisingly it still WORKS after 10 years of just sitting down there.
Got everything set-up, hooked-up, and waiting for my eggs to arrive in the mail.

First time hatching eggs to keep as pets and food, but I'm still ecstatic about just keeping a few chickens in the backyard.

I can't imagen having an incubator and not hatching anything in it for 10yrs. I've only been hatch 10yrs

Heating up the incubator tonight. My first attempt with shipped eggs! They are suppose to arrive tomorrow. I went a little crazy and ordered from three different sellers

. I will know what I have by tomorrow. I also will be setting a few of my own for my students that did not get any chicks in the last hatch. I should set on Saturday if all arrive Friday. Chicken math - I teach middle school math so it all makes since to me! I have several students now addicted!

Any advise with shipped eggs would be appreciated!
