Snazzy how's the temp in the bator are things better today?

I am here!... its been busy couple of days.we had a wedding Saturday, Sunday we had church, an easter egg hunt after,daughter had dance then I drove 2hrs to pick up baby marans! So cute. Monday I had to move my 6week old chicks to the big coop (yay they love it) then move my 2-3 week chicks into the big brooder. I've got some way cute maran babies.

But yesterday I culled 3 of my cochin babes.

2 that had the leg deformity, one that looked like it had prolapsed. And I still have 2 others I'm considering culling. A partridge cochin that walks around with his head tucked in and we call him "flippin chicken" cause he just does summersalts (sp?)
And a silver white cochin that sits like a dog and he flips backwards.

snazzy, what kind of bator are you using?

I'm giving mine a couple of more days to candle..I set them on Sat.


Nankins and barn barn yard mixes...I went ahead and candled a few of the Nankins..I see viens! I'm really excited for these little rare ones!

You are doing exactly what I did when I first started. I tried my still hova a couple of times, then ordered the G 1588...love it! Actually I have two.

And actually again... I have two more other types of hova's 16 somethings..but they are fan...

I couldn't help myself..some guy was selling them on a place we go to here in our state for new and old, odds and ends...and they were only 1 yr. old...33 dollars each!
