26.....all but about 5 are pipped!! Come on little chickens.....as before the Cochins have not hatched yet.....they were last before.....come on Harry's babies I am waiting on you!

Yay! 2 chicks now, 2 pips, and a rocker.....still waiting on those Spitzhaubens though. Man those suckers are fast....I looked in about 40 minutes ago and there was the tiniest pip (been that way since morning) came back just to check progress before I go to the store and BAM! Baby chicken.


I'm using my 1 month old chicks as motivation though.... hoping they all hear their peeping and want to come out. Not sure if it really works, but since I brought them in the room this morning a lots been happening

Now that I know it works...........now I see how exciting and addicting this whole egg hatching thing is.

Just did a head count.....31 are hatched.....you know I am really amazed and still excited that so many have hatched. Of the 9 left in the incubator only two are three do not have pips!
And gosh they are so cute!! Waiting until they are done before I post pics!

I think I am done. I have four eggs that did nothing. I candled and the air sacs don't look good and there is no movement. I have one that piped but didn't make it out, another died after it got out, and a third a have cull because it did not develop on one side. But on the good side, I have 25 fluffy butts! They are so cute! Pretty good for shipped eggs - about 65% hatch rate.

hey bburn you were right.... the one that piped in the middle of the egg made it out. when I got back from church, lunch with my mom, etc.... I came back to this cute face

though my cat wasn't as good as that dog.... luckily the cat wasn't able to get in the bator..... or there would have been a tragedy today....

now the bedroom door is locked and my cat isn't allowed in.... bad cat.
