I am having the worst time with the humidity on lockdown even. Not too little like most but tooo much! You would think being in a semi-arid climate with a draught going on that it wouldn't be a problem

I am sure hoping for a few of these new eggs to hatch! I would love some more bearded ladies

I love letting hens raise the chicks, they do such a good job. I just feel like it is so much healthier for the chicks.

I want to candle so bad, but it to early to see anything. I am just dying to know how many of these eggs are fertile. Oh, well, I will try to be patient.

Well I candled earlier, and all my eggs look good so far, 9 out of 10 have viens, the 10th is a day behind, so it won't show anything before tomorrow. It was interesting to note that while the refridgerated eggs were also developing, they seemed to be a little bit behind the others, the veining is a bit less. When will the rest of you candle?

OK. Got my eggs set last night. Some from the mail. Some from my flock. Im using a little giant still air. Im having to keep an eye on the temp though. I think the egg acting as a heat sink threw it at first. It stays within 1 degree or so, so i think were ok. Last year i hatched in a homemade coolerbator and was 90 percent succesful. That was with a water heater T-stat. Anyway, happy new year, ill candle on wednesday or so.

I let a few of my silver laced wyndottes set this summer, only one was a good mamma and I think she earned her keep, with 10 little ones.

Resist the urge to candle, I am trying to wait until day 10. We will see as I am not good at waiting!
