I set 7 of them last night, and the 8th this morning. I know, that's a bad idea, but the legbar laid another nice and early, and two of the eggs in the bator I'm a little worried about not making it, so I figured I'd stick it in there, and then candle in a couple days and throw out a dud.

Welcome to the hatchalong! I've done that before, set a bunch of eggs and then had my favorite hen lay ONE more the next morning. I stuck it in the 'bator and just made sure I left everything running one day longer. I still put everyone into lockdown at the same time, but it didn't seem to hurt the one late one. It was only about 12 hours behind the rest of them, I figured. It hatched just fine, just slightly behind everyone else.

welcome! great to havee more in suspense with us. I set cochins, eggers, seramas, faverolles, and fav silkie mix. I purchased some maran eggs on ebay but they werent as dark as I wanted (my fault as it was stated in the auction) I may pick a few darkest and the eggers he sent as extras and set those. my next round I want more copper marans and olive eggers.

Oh and I went put today and my silkie is setting on 3 eggs...lol

Well...I thought I would be setting today. Three of my shipments of eggs are lost by the gold ole USPS! Guess I'm waiting until Monday.

Oh, that bites!!! I had that happen with my only batch of shipped eggs. Very frustrating!!



The one egg being set 12 hours later than everyone else isn't the part that is naughty, it's the fact that I stuck 8 eggs in an incubator meant for 7. Whoops.

we can call this thread...."hope it hatches" thread. I plopped in another serama egg today and went ahead and added the eggs shipped today. I still dont have the egg turner on so we"ll see if it makes a difference.
