My second egg order is in OR now, at the wrong end of the state, but better than hanging out in Baton Rogue. Hope the air cells look OK, hate to delay loading the other eggs to much.

Sounds very promising. Are the eggs shipped or local?Hi jengro65,
I am incubating for the first time, and set my eggs on the 8th. I just joined BYC last week. Anyway, I'd like to join this hatch-a-long.
I candled my 13 jersey giant eggs yesterday and I was absolutely amazed! 12 of the 13 are alive and growing. The 13th appears to have never been fertile. Yep, I was awestruck and excited that I could really see movement and veins, and that they were alive. It looks like their air-sacs are the right place and sizes, and I'm using that for my humidity monitor.![]()
Our co-op only special orders JG chicks so sounds like they would be local eggs. I thought about them when ordering chicks a few years ago but I was concerned about crowding since they get so big. The chicks I saw were smaller than I thought they would be.I believe they are local. The feed store gave them to me to "eat or incubate". My curiosity is stronger than my appetite. Lol

Fun! I had some really active ones last night too.Its day 11 in my first incubator. I'm down to 30 eggs. everyone is growing fast. One baby was doing flips
Its day 4 in my other incubator and my 10 sizzle eggs show lots of veining and one very active embryo. sadly, the 8 GLW eggs aren't showing any development. I cracked one and it wasnt fertile. I'm going to leave the others in for a few days and see what happens
