Setting eggs 6/11 and 7/4 - Join me!

Miss Molly- what you may want to do is try renting a PO box at the post office. They have to hold the package there if it's sent to the PO box. I'm giving consideration to renting one for the summer for when I order eggs, because my carriers can't read to hold a box at the office either.

That is a great idea. I get so frustrated. I have the box marked with my phone number. Stamped for pick up only. I even tell the post lady, Please do not let my eggs get on the delivery truck. Last time it not only got on the delivery truck, it drove around with her all day. Then she put a slip in my mail box to come by the post office after 5:00 to pick is up. The over flow boxes didn't have room. So they drove around in the heat ALL DAY...I had two shipments of eggs that day...

Now I will have to wait and see if any of the eggs hatch...frustrating! I try to buy or trade local...But sometime I can't find what Im looking for,so I mail order. Not alway having the best luck...

I also am not at home the day the eggs reach the house most times, and they never have managed to put a box in the shade. Sigh. I should probably go rent one for the next month, as I'm supposed to be getting eggs soonish. Wonder how much it is?

Not sure if it's a standard price but I pay $44.00 a year for mine. It's just letter size but that price also includes two keys. At least here where I live.

That happens to us, too. We mark call for pickup. Instead, they put them on the truck. Then they called the number because we weren't home. Instead of taking back to the post office (right down the street), he drove around when them until 3 pm and then left them on our porch. ARGHHH! They did that with a shipment of chicks, and I had to pick through 23 or so dead chicks to get to the live ones. It was so horrible. They were alive at the post office, because we called to complain and the desk clerk said they were peeping and sounded great. It is SO frustrating. We don't hatch enough to need a mail box since we're just doing this on a rural residential lot.

Chicks aren't even supposed to go out on trucks. Live animals are supposed to always be call for pickup. I thought maybe they learned a lesson about how to care for live animal shipments...but apparently it didn't sink in. Oh well. :(

I candled it again last night and I think I scrambled it when I dropped it :( It looked kind of grayish. It is a dark egg tho and I am by no means good at candling so I am going to leave it another day to two just to be safe. Yours may be okay tho since it wasnt dropped. Good luck to you

the egg ended up cracking a lot more...and smelling, so I tossed it! But still have a lot going into lock down tonight!

I candled my eggs again and still have 11 little bouncing baby Serama in there...some of the air cells seem a bit large, but I attribute that to being shipped eggs. I think I'd rather see too large than too small, for these little guys. I would prefer perfect eggs all around, but unfortunately nothing in life is perfect. >.< Just hoping the little boogers don't have hatching issues. So far so good though :D

Can you receive packages to it as well? I know you said letter size, but what happens if someone ships something larger to you??
