Setting eggs August 15, anybody else want to join me?

in the end i have 3 babies, 4 hatched but ones feet are curled and when i try to straighten them out it shrieks in pain.. ill get someone to put it down soon :( ill post pics soon my camera isn't wanting to load pictures onto the computer right now :/

What does this mean?

I used a few of my eggs as a control group and they are developing great.
YEAAAAAAA, Babiesssss. Congratulations!!! They hatch so fragile and so strong at the same time. I love to see them hatch....Post pictures soon so we get confort in the waiting time still ahead.
Of the 15 wheaten ameraucana (shipped) only 5 developed and of those 5 I think 1 is a quitter. Hope to get those 4 alive and well. I used a few of my eggs as a control group and they are developing great.

I'm guessing they are using their own eggs to check hatch rate versus shipped eggs......if you only got eggs shipped from one person and had a poor hatch, you don't know if it's you, the shipping, or the eggs. If you have a 'control' where you can rule out shipping as a factor, you have a better idea as to your incubator being a possible culprit.

At least that's what I think that means.

I couldn't resist candling ONE.MORE.TIME. tonight. Just quickly. I saw movement in all of my light colored eggs, and I THINK I saw movement in one of my marans eggs. I can't see ANYTHING in those darn things other than the aircell though. Bumping up the humidity a little tonight, and going into LOCKDOWN in the morning!

Eggs were received from shipping and set on August 15th @ 12:30am =
One hatched successfully today! :) at a quick glance looked like a boy :p
One didn't hatch successfully :( looked smashed/squished.
One egg left to hatch - the biggest darker brown egg -crossing fingers-

Sorry for my lameness everyone... I've been a bad thread participant. :( I am glad to hear of those who have had success with this setting. I set 24 pullet eggs out of our little flock (our first grandchildren!) on Aug. 18 and have since removed 22 for inviability or other early problems. :( but we are going on lockdown and have one strong leghornXlorp and one strong barred rockXlorp that are kicking and wiggling and looking good.

I read a lot about low rates with pullet eggs, so am not overly disappointed. But always feel a little sad with each little loss.

I set another batch on the 27 of about 24 eggs and all are looking great! I promise to report better and share more pics.

reeeeeeally hoping to wake up to SOMETHING going on tomorrow. i thought i heard a few quiet peeps while i was adding water through the vent hole, but am not 100% sure it wasn't just the syringe squeeking. glad that you all have successfully hatched a few though!!

EEEE!! One of my mottled houdans hatched this morning! HURRAY! This whole process wasn't a bust!

It was pretty cute to watch the kids cluster around the 'bator watching 'chick TV.'
