Setting eggs August 2 -- anyone else?

Omigosh! So cute! I'm curious how the crosses will turn out.

I just locked down, too. I candled a few days ago, so I didn't do it again. Got a notification that the chicks I ordered have shipped, also. I'm getting antsy -- can't wait for some more little fluffballs!
HA HA, I don't feel so bad now. I'm in lockdown too & have more eggs coming today or tomorrow. One pipped yesterday afternoon & can hear peeping, I'm a nervous wreck!!!

I candled my eggs last night (Day 12). 15 out of 45 look great and are moving all around in their shells. about 6 questionable eggs. I had them shipped from three different sellers. The batch I got from one lady here on BYC had every single egg turn out to be a dud. I know its probably the fault of USPS but still, I am disappointed.

But at least some of the eggs are looking good. Im glad to have any success at all on my first try. Now I just have to get them to hatch

One of my Black Copper Marans started pipping last night and another just started a while ago. Patience isn't my thing. I peeked at them several times through the night. Hurry up! Poor little buggers. They have thick shells.

I'm thinking the chicks I ordered should be here today, too. When I broke the news that I'd ordered them to my husband, I casually told them I'd "ordered a few chicks" and didn't elaborate much. Last night he finally asked for an exact number I hemmed and hawed for a bit (waited till he didn't have food in his mouth, because I didn't feel like doing the Heimlich) and finally blurted out, "seventeen."

Oh this sounds just like me...actually I may not have even mentioned the eggs I have waiting at the post office for me this morning

As of this morning, I have four chicks hatched (two Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, one Golden Sebright & one Silver Sebright). A Silkie & another BLRW are working on it. Can't wait to get home from work...I have the kids checking on them all day.

We have our very first pip! This egg has always seemed to have been ahead of the other two. I'm crossing my fingers for new babies tonight!

LOL! My guy started my whole obsession, so he can't say anything...and he is just as bad. I feel lucky =)
He woke me up at 5 am to tell me that the chicks were pipping. A lot of them..all at once. I have to work today, so it will be a torturous day waiting to get back home, and worrying about the outcome.

I've got a pip! I went out to check on them about 3 hours ago and saw nothing, so it had to have happened pretty recently.

Got another pip, two peeping eggs, and one tapping at the shell. The other I don't think the 6th is doing anything yet.
