Congrats to everyone one with chicks. Dennarahl, it is so cute!
Anyways, the first two that pipped haven't made a lot a progress but I got two more pips since my last update. I tried lifting m broody up up to look at the eggs, and while trying to peck me she got the egg instead. It made fairly big hole, although it was half way zipped and she got about where the pip was, so I'm hoping it will be okay.
The one that was half zipped hatched. I was lucky enough to catch it coming out of the shell. This computer isn't the best so I it won't let me post pictures (It's the only laptop I have access to right now), then I'll have to wait a few days.
I came home to 4 Speckled Sussex, 2 Ameraucana (1 Splash and 1 Blue) so far. 8 more to hatch. A couple are pipped. I'm worried about one..it had a pip this morning when I left for work. The hole isn't much bigger now...it's beak tip is sticking out and that is it.
Nothing yet here. I did candle one yesterday morning because I didn't see any rocking and there's good movement going on. Today is day 21. I'm at work now and hope to come home to some hatching chicks. We'll see.
Well my hatch rate was terrible, but I know exactly why. We only got 9/29 to hatch, but my humidity peaked so high, even with my vent plug out. I've learned some lessons & will hopefully do better next time.
Congrats on everyone's little fluffballs. I'll post some pics as soon as mine get a little prettier
Woke up to two more chicks, and the sixth egg was pipped. I looked at one of the pipped eggs and didn't see any movement so I started picking at the shell, and it was dead. So that leaves three chicks, and two pipped eggs. So that just proves hat any broody is better than me at hatching LOL
I came home from work to find one egg pipped. It has since zipped and hatched and is drying in the incubator now....Yay! My first hatched egg! It's a splash silkie. No more pipped as of yet. After two failed incubation attempts with a different incubator, at least I know I can do it. This incubator is pretty sweet!
