Setting eggs August 2 -- anyone else?

That was so exiting! I've seen pips many a time, I've seen the chick come out of the shell, but this is the first time I've watched it zip! I got all the pictures of it coming out of the egg. If this last one hatches I think I might have to take a video.

Congrats Hoosierchickens!

Hi!
Did your eggs hatch? I have a one day old chick being taken care of by a broody mama that hatched her (fertilized egg from a friend with a rooster) and I'd love a few more chicks to go with her. Any chance you'd ship to northern CA ?

Well we lost two of the new Silkie chicks today & I'm really worried about the Golden Sebright. He/she has curled feet & is the little runt, hasn't even fluffed out like everyone else. Gonna construct some little "shoes" to try & help him when hubby gets home.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about the babies. :(

Lucy's family is complete. I had to help the last one with a bit of shrink wrapping, but it wasn't bad at all. Warm water and pulling the sac away from it shoulders and head did the job. The black one is an EE hen crossed with a silkie or a cochin. The two brown ones are RIR roo crossed with a SLW.

Congratulations on all the chickies everyone!

I go into lockdown in a few days. Its my first time :) I know I take the eggs out of the turner and into egg crates for hatching. Bump the humidity to 65+. Do I turn the fan off or leave it on? Anything else Im forgetting? Thanks!
