sorry to hear about your foot. Hope all goes well. Are the turkey poults for the fall, thanksgiving and all that?

I have lockdown Thursday and I pulled a few eggs (6 our of46) this week candling at day 14. But I'm not as familiar with the exploding you mentioned. I assume that might happen if a bad egg was left in? I don't think I have an blood ring eggs but there are a few that I'm not sure they are developing well. Since I'm not sure I was going to leave them in. Can you fill me in a little bit more on the exploding part and what to look for?

I'm behind you guys a little! I don't go into lock down until next week...tues...So excited though. I got 16 Silkie eggs shipped to me from a BYC member...but looks like more then half are clear...Bummer! I hope some hatch!

I keep having to lift the lid off my cooler/incubator to lower my temp. It spikes from 100 to 102 quickly (day 13) I even have all the cut out vents open now too. Any opinion on this? My first thought was it was a good sign, a sign of living chicks. Do you think this is correct or is something wrong?

My chukar , bobwhite , and about 1/2 my chicken eggs go into lockdown tonight or tammrow morning. Depends on when I have the energy to do it lol.
