I set my eggs in bator last evening, of all things we lost power today I freaked, we have never lost power here. I think all is fine tho it is so warm I didn't lose much heat, just a few more grey hairs no worries

My eggs are supposed to arrive today in the mail. So if they do and have a chance to settle overnight. I'll be setting tomorrow.
I can't wait. 30 Blue Laced Red Wyonettes!!!!! I just love the look of that bird.
All in my Little Giant so here's to 21 sleepless, nervous days. Last bast worked out to about 68% hatch from shipped eggs for my first try didn't think that was too bad.
Wow, everyone is on their way. Super fun! I candled my eggs today to see what was cookin'. Two in the homemade bator are looking goodm the other three....nada. Those five were questionables that couldnt fit in my brinsea mini. My 7 other eggs are ALL looking great! I do have one question though, I came home from the store yesterday and the homemade bator had spiked to 102.9...should I worry? Did the temp get too high for them to survive? We are on day 3 so far.
my hatch right now that I'm enjoying took 4 sets of eggs that were 0%...... nonesies. Big fat Zero. And it was all because of the temperatures. I was up/down/up/down/up..... it makes me nuts. I started reading and absolutely living by the cheat sheet by ChooksChick and doing dry incubation. Right after doing that.... first hatch success. I will never ever ever ever change the temp on my incubator by turning something up or turning down unless it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. There will be some fluctuation..... will try to get a link on here to the cheat sheet. It's saved my egg's lives and my brain!I set a batch of 35 on June 1. I've been having a lot of trouble with my incubator staying at the right temp. It's typically within the acceptable range, but it's been irritating to find it slightly above and below a couple of times. I'm a crazy mama hen getting up all through the night to check on my eggs and make sure the temp is good. I for sure news a wireless therm so i don't have to run down to the basement every time i need to check on them.
I candled them today and saw blood vessels in quite a few!! Here's hoping for a successful hatch!
