I'm not sure who you were asking, but I thought I would replyHow are the eggs going?
I do dry hatching method and that's the only way we had babies. With humidity it just was miserable.... but that was my experience and I know others have done super well with it. Best thing that I can tell ya is to sit tight, be patient and let everything settle in before changing anything...Have I set too many eggs? They touch the styrofoam and each other. Of course, now if I place another thermometer at egg level, it will have to rest of top. Thoughts?
I set 29 eggs. 7 leghorns, 4 australorps, 5 golden comets, 7 barred rocks, 2 new hampshire, 4 brahmas. Those are the hens anyway. The roosters could be any of the following: bantam cochin, orpington, brahma, or rhode island.
Temp is stable at 99, humidity was at 47 when I put the eggs in, but I added more water and it quickly increased and is at 67 now. ugh...too high or just let it go? I set the eggs about 15 minutes ago
Life is good with the eggies here. Humidity is waaaaaay low, aircells are growing nicely, we're turning by hand about 3-4 times a day, and temp is about 100 with a wee computer fan moving the air around. So far, so good. All the plugs are out of the lid and they'll stay that way. We're so excited! Thanks for asking......How are the eggs going?
