Setting eggs June 3rd. Need hatching buddies! Lets have some fun!

Oh boy. Everything was going so well until...last night before I went to bed, the temp was running low 98 ish, so I draped a jacket over the incubator. This was around 12:30. This morning when I woke around 5, the temp had spiked between 103-105 (depending on the thermometer) I candled some and still see movement (in the lighter eggs, can't see in the dark eggs)
How are your eggs looking, still have movement?

I swear they sleep to . I had to tap on an egg for a couple minutes last night I was scared to death that the chick was dead but it woke up . Then I felt bad for wakeing the poor thing up.

As we get closer to hatch date is it normal that it is harder to see movement? On day 14,,,,,,,, think they died?

I was wondering the same thing. I got back from my trip late last night and decided to candle this morning to see if everything was still good. I have 21 of the 30 that I definitely saw movement, 7 that look okay, but I never saw movement and two that didn't look good. One of the bad ones had crack, so i removed it and opened it. I had the prettiest little baby in there- so sad that she didn't make it.
Tomorrow is day 18 and I'm sweating bullets stressing out about this first hatch. So exciting, but so stressful!

It'll all be worth it when I have a box full of fluffy butts.

Candled my eggs again last night. Of the 10 in the incubator 8 of them are growing for sure. One I'm pretty sure isn't, but am going to wait to be sure. Another is iffy. Didn't candle the eggs I'd placed under my turkey. She is faithfully sitting on them. Last week when I candled I couldn't see anything and thought all the eggs were sterile. Opened 3. First one had started to grow but stopped after just a day or so. Second one was sterile. Third had a living embryo. So ........ Next time I will give it longer!!! (I'd candled on day 7)

Nine days to go for me. 7 days for the 3 eggs my Silky is sitting on; 3 of her OWN eggs.

I just candled some of them. Out of about 8 or so, I saw movement in 2. One was definitely dead, but that didn't appear to be from the temperature spike. It never really started to form, so my daughter cracked it open outside and it just looked like a regular egg yolk. I would be surprised if it wasn't fertilized since I have so many roosters.

The eggs that were difficult to see movement are definitely forming...I am only using a flashlight to candle. Do you think they would still be moving around if they were terribly harmed by the temp spike?

I candled some more. Of about 20 or so, only 3 had definite movement. They are all forming, so I know what happened if they don't make it...
