Well, I think I'm losing it.. I locked down yesterday morning but I was in the bathroom (where the incubator is) and I swear I heard a tiny faint peep. Wishful thinking or babies in a hurry?? I set on 5/2 but I guess some of those MF d'Uccles could be ready to come out of those tiny eggs

We set the same day, LOL....That would be cool if you heard peeping!!! I go into lockdown tonight......
HAHA... well, my first hatch started out two days early and were done by their "due" date but I have the temp thing much more figured out by now. It's just that darned staggered hatch that's freaking me out. I have opened the bator just a crack to reach in and kind roll the eggs that still need to be turned. I am not doing a perfect "side to side" roll because that takes a lot of time. I figure that momma chickens don't flip them over perfectly every time either.
They technically can because if your temps were a little high they could have developed more quickly. I had some duck eggs that started to squeak at me the day of lockdown before I technically had locked down
It freaked me out.. ended up being a tough hatch. Had to help all three of them out but they did make it. They were very very dry and membrane was stuck to them.
