what else does the breeder sell that could have gotten mixed in? Maybe an egg ended up in the wrong basket

It was a long night, but I've got 5 brand new babies!!! I'm still waiting on the other 5. All but 1 have pipped, but I've seen no progress on any of them since last night. I know I've read this is normal so I'm trying really hard to be patient.

One thing that worries me, tho, is that all of a sudden my temperature and humidity are all over the place. I've gone from not having to cover the top or glass to having two thick bath towels covering the whole incubator to keep the temp above 98.6. I've learned, through watching, that the spike in humidity means an egg is either hatching or is about to hatch- but, whats the deal with the temperature? Nothing else has changed in the house.

Looking at that yellow chick, now I think he is a cochin, they were ssupposed to be blues and lemon blues but there was one egg not labeled and the breeder has red. It just looked so big compared to the little vorwerks that I thought it must be LF. now that it is up and moving around I see feathered legs - definitely not a welsummer

Hang in there itsa lots of time left

Mine does the same thing!! I think it has to do with the babies creating heat and the moisture hanging in the air retaining heat. I usually get temp spikes during hatch.. have to watch it closely.
