Setting Eggs on April 24th!!!! Who wants to hatch along w/me???

I set 2 dozen turken/rhode island red eggs and 20 Delaware eggs (Delaware was shipped eggs) on May 22nd and I set 10 lavender orpington eggs (was shipped eggs) on May 24th.

Some of them were clear so now I have in my incubator: 9 lavender orpington eggs, 19 turken eggs and 14 Delaware eggs.

Good luck everyone on our future chicks to be

Toni, I am having the same problem, my broody hatched 6 (she only let 4 get their pic taken)

And is in a book box on my wicker bench at the front door!!
I am mortified at the thought of moving her, I set some water and start feed in a corner of the box and she went to lightly pecking, not bad, but I gotta put her somewhere better. Our coop revamp is almost finished, but she might peck me blind along the walk!

These guys may end up in my outside laundry room again whether she likes it or not!!

And you guys with staggered hatches, I have one about to happen, quite unexpectedly, I really have no idea haow far along they are!! The eggs I have in my bator are 4 fresh from my flock and 9 that I rescued from a burn pile..another lovely choice of one my hens, she had been sitting on them, but wound not go for any re nesting of them, so now they are in the bator...and moving now!!!

My other eggs are on day 10,the others are moving so much I am sure they are gonna hatch soon!! I am working on the humidity...

suggestions, tips welcome.

I have no idea what breed she is. A friend of my husbands' was overrun with chickens and gave us her and our roo...really have no idea!! My roo is a mixed up thing too!

You guys, I went to the feed store and this is what I saw

this is two,of I don't know what (one just hides and that is really all you see is its' bare bum). They were on a low level of the brooder, no light, just the two of em huddled in a corner. One has NO feathers, the other has its' hiney so plucked it was bleeding. Overall they are really terrified, but don't act sick or lethargic. I saw this, and took them home with me, I have to try and give them a better life...no one was gonna buy em...just broke my heart!

I am really befuddled here, I raised my temp and am going to monitor my wobbly eggs....might be having ANOTHER hatch

rescued chick is doing fine, gave her a bath last night and blow dried her so she would catch cold. Shes in her brooder with one of the two week old bantys. Doing fine as of now. Eating and drinking. Sleeping a lot. lol.

missred871 glad to hear your rescued chick is doing good!!

These guys I got from the feed store are so incredibly terrified, just putting food in for them sends them into a terror. They need a lot of TLC!!! Seem either really mistreated or picked on a bunch from past chicks.

I was just appalled that these chicks were "available" for sale, and one with no feathers at all!! I did get them for free of course! Hubby shook his head, but I just felt it was going to be me or no one to give these guys a home. I wonder what they are going to be.
We love mystery chicks!!!

I really hope they slack up on the freak outs!

I am sweating it over here, so not sure if I am doing the right thing, I saw so much good movement, I bumped humidity to 70 and an going to hope my intuition is right on this....the movement looks like the kind I saw right before the pips.

might be a long night....

First..PKW.Welcome

My broody hatched 8 out of 9 eggs.started with 16 but something must have gotten the other 7...
Actually OK with me.I have to many chicks and the hen is happy.
She is a Sussex hen and I do not have a clue who Dad is..but all chicks are identical...black with a white chest and white spot on the top of their heads. Hope that does not mean they are all roosters..grrrrrrrrrrrr

Set the incubater up today and will likely set eggs tonight ...some are a little old but I will let nature take it's course..

Scuba, I suffered from stupid this week..............I was so upset about the loss of some of my hens and so ticked at my husband for leaving them out.......................that he tried to replace a few to rid himself of guilt....and my anger.
We answered an ad in CL for 5 month old Astrolorps...I lost two 8 month olds...........
We met the guy and one of the pullets had a bare back...............and I do not believe they are purebred....black but look more the shape of a RR or leghorns ........................My head said leave them......
My heart said bring them home and get them healthy..You can guess the rest of that story.
We have them seperated from the rest of the flock....Hopefully I can sell them when they are in good shape.I don't even like them lol
Wishing well to every one,,,and happy hatching

Scuba,
I am a little confused.............your incubater would not be in lock down humidity then?
And not sure how long the egg has been pipped?

I would wrap it in a warm wet wash cloth and see if you can determine if it is alive.
Then I am not sure because of the humidity issue.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
How long in the incubater now?
