I just started up the incubator this afternoon. I will be setting a small batch of silkie eggs this saturday morning from my girls. So far I have 4 eggs, hoping to have at least 6 or 7 to set. Its just 2 girls laying right now that I set up a month ago with one of my roos.

If my hatch is done I will be with you for this hatch on the 6th:-) Day 21 is the 4th for me so we'll see..Il be incubating 18+ of my silkie eggs I was hoping for at least 2 doz of theirs but Il take the 18-plus 6-8 Amaracauna eggs-frizzled polish and BBS cochins standards..

I'll be starting the process on either the 5th or the 6th, depending on how soon I get my homemade incubator stabilized. I bought two ameraucana hens last Friday and found out they are laying fertile eggs - since I don't have a roo, I really want to try to hatch these eggs. I've never hatched with an incubator before. Llast summer was our first, and only, time hatching eggs and we used a broody. Not wanting to spend a large amount of money to try and incubate 8-10 eggs, I set out to make my own. I'm hoping it works.

Set mine this morning...so I'll be just ahead of you...Serama eggs to boot, so I will likely hatch at 19-20 days. I may be adding over the next day or two any other eggs that I get.
