Setting Eggs on the 30th in Springfield, IL

Finally got the time to get the photos on the computer. We lost a chick last night, but we were kind of expecting it because she never ate or drank despite being introduced to the food and water multiple times. Something just wasn't right. So now we're down to 4 chicks. But the remaining ones are as happy and healthy as can be. And we have another 26 eggs in the incubator!

I have 4 Silver Laced Wyandotte hens and one Rooster. They will be good for your cold weather and they are very nice birds. Not mean to people or the other birds.

So you have the two piglets? How old? About 20 pounds?

I was going to start a new thread and I sill might, but I am putting 41 eggs in the bator in about and hour!

I will have the same mix as last time. It looks like I got one pure Java, and about 6 pure Plymouth Barred Rock. Three were yellow, but are feathering white with a little grey and or black showing. I think these three are from golden comet hens (white genes) and I am not sure of the roo yet?

Two og the chicks are all black? Black legs, black beaks and black feathers? Java?

Hey there! I've been taking more pictures but haven't had a chance to get them onto the computer yet. I'll do it tonight. Even though my chicks hatched almost 5 days after yours they look like they're about the same size with the same amount of feathering now. They caught up quickly! A continued update tonight. And I saw you over on the other hatching thread. Let me know if you want to keep this one going or if we should move over there.
