If i am getting some eggs from my in-law's to set, can I just pull them from nesting box drive them 30 minutes back home and put them in incubator, can I take some that are in fridge, etc....Hoping someone will answer me rather quickly....

Thanks!

Fertile eggs can sit out for over a week and still remain viable, so 30 mins. is fine. I wouldn't use any in the fridge, most likely not viable anymore. I suppose you could try, but results would probably not be really good. I am pretty sure you aren't supposed to refridgerate. Hope this helps.

Thank you SO much...I will take them from the nesting box then for sure....Appreciate the quick reply....Can you give me any hints on how to get the humidity up in the HOVABATOR 1602N? It is steady at 38%..

That sounds like a good humidity for the first 18 days...could even go to 45 or so...after that, you can try wet sponges, paper towels, etc. I found that a humidifier next to the bator worked great. Good luck. Keep us posted!

One more question please...

Do I need to transport the eggs in a certain position, or is that only for when I put them in the incubator.....I also posted about using a little giant egg turner in a Hovabator brand incubator, could that work?

I don't know about the turner question. But you always want to have the round end of the egg higher than the pointy end. If it's in a carton, round end up. When they are on their side, the round end should always be slightly higher.

That's probably the best way. That way they don't break.

Thank you ever so much f8thnjc, I appreciate it...I just wanted to make sure they didn't need to be transported sideways, LOL...I will keep everyone posted!
