Setting Eggs Sept. 24th-Oct. 4th-Last Hatch of the Year. Anyone care to join me?

Oh don't let me upset you - - - I have no idea, it just seemed like it should be at the top. They seem to zip around the middle, I think.

On a happy note my broody has hatched five of her nine so far.

My Broody is doing quite well with her eggs.
So far five chicks out of the nine eggs. Plus one egg has a zip.

Inside we are not doing so well. I feel like we stalled. I have been thinking about grabbing the chicks and putting them in a brooder, taking all the eggs and putting them under my hen, she will stay with it as she is the best. Really I won't do that to her, taking the chicks would break her little heart. The two yellow & black ones are her mutt chicks. The yellow should be my Delaware. The other two I am not sure of but I think one is a Maran.

Okay, I am so worried. It has been close to 24 hours since my egg pipped. I know the chick is still alive because I think I saw movement through the tiny hole. Why won't she zip?????? Her pip is in the middle closer to the small end of the egg---is she turned around wrong? I have the humidity at 70% and so far I am holding myself back from getting that egg out.
I have a third pip, this one is on the right side. This pip is giving me the resolve to not open the bator to rescue the other chick. I don't want the eggs shrink-wrapped. Sounds awful, but I fear my first pip chick is stuck.
Well at least there is some activity.

My broody now has 6 hatched and I think another is pipped. Not bad.

Congratulations on the hatches everyone.

I have a "problem child" chick and I need help. I stopped looking in the bator due to being scared. A chick hatched out but left this wad of goopy gunky yellow and white stringy stuff in the eggshell when it came out. It also has an itty bitty pink "bloop" of jelly-looking stuff (pinhead sized) near it's abdomen. What is the yellow goop in the shell and what is the pink-white-bloody looking 'dot' on his belly?? Will it be okay?
