Well we're all done. Went out to the nursery and Wilma was up with the chickies, showing them about food, water and nibbles of grass. She left the two eggs, so I grabbed them up and candled them. One appears to never have been fertile and the other just had a dark blob floating- maybe 10 days old.
I destroyed the eggs and re-enforced the run since little fuzzy butts apparently can walk thru walls of wire. So cute, and am having a hard time staying inside and not sitting next to the nursery watching them play and learn.

Total result: (sorry miscounted my original eggs set)
4 PR/BO eggs
3 Buff Orpington eggs
Results:
2 PR/BO chicks (one even has a dark stripe on it's head like one of the hens who contributed 1 or 2 eggs)
3 Buff Orpingtons chicks
1 non-fertile egg
1 dead at 10days approx.

so I guess it's 5 out of 6- not bad for an inexperienced hen and chicken owner

Congrats!!! That must be amazing to watch! To be honest though... I don't think I ever want to share the momma duties with any of my hens. I'm selfish like that
