Setting Eggs Sept. 24th-Oct. 4th-Last Hatch of the Year. Anyone care to join me?

The one I hatched is a CatDance Porcelain. Her Porcelain pen is porcelain only I believe is what she said. I am hoping for one like this (aren't we ALL?? Right???):




The little one I just bought - I have no idea the color. It may be a silver white. It doesn't look red to me at all, but may be a light buff. I know it has the blue looking coloring as well as the creamy color. Two years ago I would have bought them all too, but I am trying to "upgrade" my silkie flock. I am not a good "culler" because I get attached to them, so I have to restrict myself.

I only had one of Karen's Porcelain eggs make it to the last candling. WHen i lock down tonight on them I will see if it made it.

but this girl is not porcelain she is out of the paint pen and does have some paint spots...

Those are stunning!!! My oldest Catdance babies are from my last hatch and they are 5 weeks old this week and in the gangly stage. So ugly they are cute if silkies can ever be considered "ugly".

Only one like me??? And you started with two dozen also right? Fingers crossed for you!!!

My first shipment was so much better with the hatch rate. I'll still order more eggs from her and try again, because I think the quality is so worth it!!! I think Cindy had an even better hatch rate than I did with 6 live babies out of 12 if I remember right. Cindy is that right?

oh dear! I just went to get my broody from the garage and put her on the grass for her morning poop and scratch around and I didn't notice that one of the eggs was caught up under her and it dropped on the cement and broke open....yes there was a fully formed moving chick in there but I couldnt help it as the entire egg had smashed...it was a paint chick...

Your girl came out of the paint pen? I had three hatch from the paint labeled eggs. I got two partridge and an unknown color. I love the unknown colors because they are such delightful surprises!!! Do you show yours Dwegg? I haven't started yet, but I want to.

What kind of incubator do you use? Or do you use your hens?

this is the first time I've tried using a hen ...i have always used my bator...hovobator Genesis 1588...it is awesome....i don't even put in any temp or humidity gauges any more...
