]This is so addicting b/ c you do feel like you make your own chicks like a little god....and when they hatch this real live moving tiny thing is too amazing. Then you have all us other addicts to talk to about it!Cant beat it.

Hi, I won't be joining in with this one but will keep an eye on how you are all doing anyway. I'm now concentrating on finishing my chicken shed & run for occupation. Can't wait 'til I can see the chicks in the garden doing natural 'chicken things', lol!
I'm working on 6-8 weeks of age to move them outside, would this be about right?

Sounds great..i don't know how cold it get up in your area but make sure they can still get to a warm area in the coop..cause cold draft is bad even with feathers. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/...ks-the-first-60-days-of-raising-baby-chickens

First, secound, and last hatch was zero!!! :hmm that's not cool. Oh boy if that happen to me i wouldn't never hear the end of it from my hubby about told you so....

Yeah those first 2.. wanted to cry then second zero got real mad bought the perfect temp Genesis and 4 orders of shipped eggs not 6 eggs all 12 or more... then had my " good" hatches.Last as i said may have been me and not watching the humidity went down to 22 about 5 times and i started them on a whoops...60 humidity first 2 days so may have been me.

Had a bit of a scare yesterday, when our broody hen was leaving her separate hutch she knocked a few of the eggs out of the nest! Since it's floor level they just rolled a little, but I'll candle the eggs later tonight and see how they're going. Hopefully they're doing good!

And just wait until its hatch day, 1stTimeChikMama! Then you'll be counting down the minutes, especially when they've pipped xD Its always best when they pip overnight and you come out to a new chick!
My first hatch, I think watched for hours after they pipped...Over nighters are the best, then you get more done during the day!
Now the fun begins!!!!!

My hatches have all been during the warmer months. I'm worried if too many hatch, where i am going to put them because the nights are starting to get cold. I have a chicken tractor, with heating lamp that will fit all of them all, but it may get crowed when they get bigger...Guess I may be requesting another coop...MUHAHAHA
