Hi, I won't be joining in with this one but will keep an eye on how you are all doing anyway. I'm now concentrating on finishing my chicken shed & run for occupation. Can't wait 'til I can see the chicks in the garden doing natural 'chicken things', lol!
I'm working on 6-8 weeks of age to move them outside, would this be about right?

I moved mine out when they were about 6 weeks old but that is here in Florida where it is still very warm.

My daughter saw a silkie today. Now she wants her own. May I ask where you got your silkies here in WA?

LakeBird if you haven't found Karen yet I just did a google search and found her or even a search on BYC. She'll come up. Here is a picture of the 6 I just hatched from her so you can see how amazing they are.

It's just good that I'm okay with having no social life for a while as I don't think I will be going ANYWHERE around that time! I wonder if I'll be able to sleep... 

Ha ha ha ha!!! Ummmmmmm no sleeping!!!!! sleepless nights and lots of frantic messages on BYC hoping and praying that someone else is also awake at 3am when you don't know what to do!!!! LOL!!!! Why do we do it over and over again????

Sorry about the Delaware. I know you were looking so forward to that one.
I just love when you can see right through them. Makes life so much easier. Both sets of eggs I have in now are like that. Last hatch those Marans were really hard until Day 10.

I'm telling you Brook I was so gutted!!!! That was the last egg I got before they all went into full molt. It looks like a feather factory in that pen!!!

Ummmmmmm, but guess what???? I just found the swap thread and I just claimed some bantam OE and bantam Welsummer - ha ha ha ha - I daren't tell my hubbie
