Can I save these low humidity eggs? If I raise the humidity now till the end of the hatch...will it be enough? Boy...sure glad I took the neighbors eggs in to hatch before buying shipped eggs! What a learning experience LOL.....guess I just need to know if I can save these low humidity eggs or it is a lost cause? funny...how some have big air sacs and some don't??

Candled the first batch of eggs (day 6 because I couldn't stand it):

7 Black Orps: I think I see 2 blood rings and something in the rest. Will recheck those 2 eggs in a day or so.

10 Golden Cuckoo Marans: I think I see 1 blood ring (will recheck in a couple of days) and something going on in the rest.

Chicken math I think you failed it so it doesn't matter anymore just go for it. I want splash too. I hope she has some for spring or maybe another breeder like TopHat. We could get siblings again

It was at 20-25% most of the time. I took the "dry method" to heart and didnt add water. So, I added water and it's in the 30's now. The only way I can get it up to 50% or higher is to close both red vents..but I read not to close the vents..so have them open.

The air cell does get bigger as the chick grows but 1/2 way is too much at day 12. Here is what it should roughly look like:

I would up the humidity a little more in this case. Maybe high 30's-low 40's to try and get some moisture back into the eggs. When doing a dry hatch you want to keep the humidity in the low 30's. If it falls below 25% then you add just enough water to get it back up into the 30's. At lockdown you up the humidity to 55-60%. Here is a good article on DRY HATCHING
Don't close the vent plugs. If you have to get the humidity up you can close one of them.
Here are some pictures of egg candling at various stages of incubation. You can compare your eggs to these. Is there a possibility that the eggs were older and they started developing before you got them or were they freshly laid? The first eggs I ever hatched were collected over 5 days before I got them and 2 of the eggs hatched at day 16 and 17 of incubation. Way too early, but the chicks were fully formed and ready to hatch. Those 2 had started to grow before I even got them.

If it did not look like the other 2 then I would say that you have a quitter. Keep an eye on that one. Maybe candle again in 2 days. If no different I would toss it. You don't want a bad egg to explode in the bator and ruin the rest of your hatch.
