Great news!!! Less than a week to go. Good Luck.Candled yesterday which was day 15 and found one egg weeping so had to discard it. The other 16 seem to coming along fine![]()
Thought you were done hatching!!!just found this thread... I set 4 of my own pullet mixed eggs on Sept 22. (SLW hen with a Blue Splash Wheaten Americana Roo) hope they hatch.the eggs are small...
I was suposed to be finished...but I also just set 2 BCM eggs, 1 RIR, 4 or 5 EE... i lost count.. I set these just the other day... I know I am out of the date parameters... but I am going to follow along for support...lol Nice to see you all again...
I have heard that bacteria causes it also but my question about that is why does it seem to happen more to shipped eggs than local? I do know that the ring forms from all the blood vessels breaking down from the deceased embryo. So no, it doesn't hatch. When I candled Saturday night I placed all 6 of the bloodring eggs in an egg carton in the fridge so I could do the eggtopsies the next day when there was more light. When I went to take a picture of a bloodring last night they were all gone.Interesting I havent heard this one...and do they then hatch? Would love to find out. I read the blood ring is caused by bacteria ...maybe it can be killed by cold?...hummm
