So are these going to be added to the bunch I am watching for you?![]()
I was trying to put a signature on my post and with alittle help from one of the people on here I did it.What did you do.....haha![]()
Nice hatch rate!!! I can't wait until my girls start laying this spring.
So here is the breakdown:
Set 39 eggs, removed 3 after 1st candeling
2nd candeling had 36 that were going pretty good, 2 iffy ones
3rd candeling, 34 good eggs, two that had air cells on each end, marked those two. 32 eggs that should hatch.( not counting the double air cell ones )
Have had a total of 29 chicks hatchout, one egg that pipped, then the chick died before getting out of the shell, and one can't get up, so am sure will end up with 28 viable chickies out of the batch, the double air cell eggs did nothing else, will end the hatch when I get home from work today, and do an eggtopsy friday on my day off.
So all in all a good hatch, did not expect this many to make it to hatch day, have 6 of them going to a co worker, just doubled the flock !
These are all project eggs.
Day 21 (first hatch for me) have 6 eggs in bator. Lots of movement, can hear chirps now and then and one Leghorn cracked the shell in a large spot but hasn't made it through the membrane. Waiting for updates from all the comotion that was going on all day yesterday and last night. Can't wait to hear.![]()
I have a lot of chirping going on, they sure do take their sweet time hatching all the way out of their eggs lol I saved a shrink wrapped baby today so I'm happy
