Setting Eggs Sept. 24th-Oct. 4th-Last Hatch of the Year. Anyone care to join me?

OMG congratulations everyone!!!! I injured myself working on my property (but I'm fine, just tore a stomach muscle) so I've just been reading these posts from my phone in bed! I LOVE all of the beautiful little baby pictures!!! My boyfriend, although he should be use to me after all of these years, thinks I officially lost it. The doctors were worried that I had appendicitis so during all of their tests I told my bf that I couldn't go into surgery... I had to put my eggs in lockdown that night!!! He just looked at me and shook his head. But that seriously was all I could think about! But thankfully I got to come home and that wasn't the issue

So I have 9 of my 11 shipped Lavender Ameraucana eggs in lockdown now and they are due Thursday! I am slightly worried as after I added the water my temp has been staying around 98.3. It's been over 12 hours now and that is the temp it is automatically keeping (Hovabator). Humidity is about 65-70%. I hope that's okay! :/ BUT YAY TO EVERYONE AND THEIR BEAUTIFUL BABIES!!! I'm sooo nervous!!!

Now what were you doing to rip a stomach muscle? It must be quite painful. As long as the temp doesn't fall below 96 you should be okay.

Ahhh who knows. I have dogs and picked up about 500 lbs of dogs food bags this weekend. I groomed all of my golden retrievers and my rottie (7 in total) this weekend so it could have been lifting them in and out of the tub or onto the table. And I also cut down two big trees in the back and chopped them up and hauled them by hand too. My life it normally like this so I'm not sure if it was any of that or just a freak thing. It's no fun but not that bad. I decided not to fill the prescription for my pain meds (I'm one of those crazy anti pill people/natural cures only nut lol) but I AM taking an anti inflammatory. I can't pick up anything over 10 lbs for a month, bla! Good thing the chicks are nice and light! So I can still love on them

Thank you for letting me know about the temp though. It was really worrying me as it never moved during the incubation period. So I thought it odd it would change just because I added water!

I am one of those anti pill/natural cures people too but when either my daughter or I get a pain killer script I always fill them just to have on hand. I got a toothache several months ago on a Friday night and of course the dentist didn't open until Monday. I tried everything natural under the sun to relieve the pain and nothing worked. I finally broke down and took a pain killer and boy was I happy I had them.

Oh my WORD I'm excited!!!!!! You are going to be so happy with Sweet Pea chicks - praying they all make it. Her eggs always hatch first for me, and I've been hatching a lot of pulleys recentlyn- yay!!!!
I will have Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, Black, Splash and Blue Copper Marans and Wheaton Marans in Spring as well, so we can trade if you want any of the above

It's a deal! I may have white ameracaunas too. I think I have figured out a better way to pack the eggs. I am going to try to putting them in these containers and taping it together with painters tape. Then putting the eggs in the middle of the box surrounded by shredded paper or peanuts...whatever I have around the house. What do you think?

My Chicks at 8 days old now :) I am not sure what breed they are but i have added some pictures in the "What breed am i section" so if anyone can advise i would appreciate it :)
