I have 6 due to hatch on the 31st and I set 24 more yesterday. I'm probley crazy to attempt a barnyard mix and staggered hatch. This is my first time, but I'm willing to give it a whirl. The 6 are looking good when I candle them, as far as I can tell. I don't have an auto turner so I hand turn and my husband and granddaughters help me to remember. I plan on giving half to my father-in-law who went in halfs for the incubator. This is so fun!

We are setting 18 eggs tomorrow. Most of them are Ameracauna/Austerlorp crosses. I am trying to see if I can get green eggs daily using this cross. The others are full Ameracauna. I can not spell either of those names. Sooooo, sorry if I misspelled them. These chickens were passed down to me by family members.

OK, I am with ya.

I set eggs at 11 PM on Sat. 7/18, and added more 48 hours later. I am sure this will mess up everything, right? Well, I am gonna try it. This is my first time. The first eggs are from the local Farmer's Market. The next dozen came from a friend at work. I think most of them are Rhode Island Reds, but possibly a few surprises, I was told. We'll see!

All advise appreciated!

My bator has been pretty steady at 99.9 and humidity at around 40%. Does that sound ok?

Hey guys I am going to set some eggs this weekend for the first time ever. I made the Miss Prissy chic o bator. I am excited. I can find anywhere info on if I should remove the egg carton on day 18 or just leave it in. I will be turning the whole bator so the eggs will be in an eggs flat. I didnt know if the could get out if you leave them in the flat. I have seen pics only of the hatching on a flat surface. What do you think?

so a question for ya'll this is my first time too. the directions said NOT to open the bator for the first day the eggs are set. BUt it say to turn every couple hours, so which is it??? since i m a day behind everyone here, what did yall do?
