Setting eggs today... new to this??????

Hello everyone
I am using the Brinsea Octagon 20 with my class of 3rd graders.
I set 18 eggs this morning around 10 am.
Temperature 99.3 Humidity 45% holding steady
When is my lock down day? Time?
When would my hatch day be?
I can never figure this out.

If you set your eggs today, lockdown would be on day 18 at 10:00 am (May 17), so tomorrow at 10:00 am would be day 1. The approximate hatch day would be May 20, but that depends on several factors like temperature. Higher temps= earlier hatch & lower temps= later hatch.

Lockdown is the lastly 3 days of incubation where you remove the Turner ( if applicable) or stop hand turning, up the humidity and do not open the incubator until the hatch is done. This is really important for humidity which is vital for a chick to successfully hatch. A humidity drop could shrink wrap or make the chick stick to the shell.

Day one is 24 hours after you first set the eggs, so today at 10:00 am for you was day 1. Tomorrow at 10:00 am is day 2 and so on.
