about to put my eggs in, cant nail down the humitity. can anyone tell me if this matters too much. and how do people know what the humitity is without a hydrometer when they do it? do they just wing it?

I want to join! It's great to set eggs on the first day of spring, isn't it? It feels like spring when eggs are in the incubator!

So...this is my 3rd year hatching, and this year we are letting our 6 year old, Calista, manage the eggs. We have 6 eggs from our backyard flock all of which are blue and green from our easter egger girls. The daddy roosters will be either Peanut Butter (easter egger) or Sargent Marshmellow (light brama). I can't wait to see what kind of chicks we get

I don't know how they do it without a hydrometer, but you can pick up one at walmart for about $7 and calibrating it is easy
