I set on the 12th but this will be my 3rd hatch. First hatch last yr was killed about a week after I moved them outside. Raccoon! Fixed the issue and set 12 more 11 hatched. Now I am hatching their babies. I lost a whole hatch last weekend due to temp issues.

Hahaha, I just candled again, now that it's dark and I have the LED light...all 5 of my D'Uccles have veins and 1 has a clear heartbeat!!! I'm so excited about those!!

Everything else, the shell is too dark or porus to see into the egg, so I'm going to stop candling those until I get past day 10. I will probably continue to candle the D'Uccles every night so I can track development and just witness it too...I find this so amazing!

Aww, what a good hubby! I think mine is starting to wonder...I'm already talking about buying hatching eggs after this batch and building another chicken coop...

I candled, 9 out of 10 are fertile. The only one that isnt is my very porous one.
