Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

Aww, thanks! I hope yours do too though! I know most people wait to candle, but there are a few of us who are addicted to it and do it all the time.

I do that whenever I set eggs. I candle them everyday :/

I think I would candle everyday if I had seen anything the first few times I candled... seeing nothing is a little too disappointing for a newbie incubator like me

Are you using a strong enough light? Find the brightest LED you can find and try that! Are your eggs brown? Most of mine are, I can only see into 6 of my 16 eggs.

Yes, they're brown. I used a strong led and I think I may have seen a dark shadowish thing in a few of them anyway...still trying not to get my hopes up though

Just candled again. All fertile eggs. I can see heartbeats in all of them. You do know its easier to candle if you project the light on the fat end where the air cell is. It will light up the whole egg!

I get to candle tonight. I'm a little uneasy though. I was away from Thursday to about an hour ago, and my mom let my rowdy cat/kitten (1 1/2 year old BOY) spend the night in my room.

I KNOW he got up on top of the shelf that the incubator is on, because I keep a feather toy up there and it was on the ground when I returned. I'm REALLY hoping he only hopped up there once, and wasn't skittish about it, and that no harm was done.. but since the embryos are most fragile when they're "younger," I'm really worried that he messed them up. :( I will definitely candle as soon as it gets dark (a couple more hours) and I will share the results. Cross your fingers for me.

There's nothing going on in any of the eggs that I can easily see into. The Olive Egg I can't tell, and will give it a few more days. The day after I set my eggs I opened up an olive egg and it was obviously fertile... So we will see.

Candle one of my broody's eggs last night and didn't see anything. I'm probably gonna get an LED flashlight and then I'll see if I can see them any better.
