Setting eggs tomorrow, anyone want to join?

You're so lucky...I just checked mine and no pips yet, but I *think* I saw two move a little...not sure I will really see any rocking while in the carton, will I?? I keep talking to them telling them it's time to start coming out!! UHG, the wait is killing me!!!!!! I'm at 65% humidity now, with 2 jar lids and sponges and a jar full of water and a sponge and a wet wash cloth.

We took our 4 year old to a place called Liberty Ridge farms, they had a breakfast with the Easter Bunny and a egg hunt. She had a good time and breakfast was so yummy! I couldn't stop thinking about the eggs the WHOLE time we were there though!

I have that problem at hatch time too. I don't want to go out or go anywhere LOL I'm glad I got all my Easter goodies yesterday lol

Its been a couple of hours, both vents open, all water gone and cant get humidity below 40%! At least I have them upright to give them a better chance! I candled one when I did the quick switch and no pipping into air cell yet, still have good movement, so there is hope!

what is your due date?

How do you candle them without moving them? I want to do a quick air cell check but am afraid too. I won't lose humidity b/c I can run the bath and close the bathroom door, and run the heat...I just want to know if there is anything going on in those shells.

I only have one vent open, should I have both open? Won't that drop my humidity?

Uhg, I have to to my mother-in-laws tomorrow for easter dinner and then out to pick up my oldest from her father, so I'll be gone about 6 hours :( :( :(

We had 2 pips on the Jersey Giant/Barred Rock crosses when I checked at 8:00 this morning. Didn't hear or see anything till 10 when one started chirping and then zipping. He was out by 11:20. It didn't start chirping till it had a hole in the shell and we shined the flashlight on it. 2 out now, one boy and one girl, and 1 more pip that hasn't done anything for over 2 hours.

Our humidity was 75% at lockdown and was down to 70% this morning. Now with 2 chicks out it's about 80%. They weren't suposed to hatch till tomorrow evening, another 27 eggs to go. I hope the higher humidity isn't going to hurt - guess I should take a plug out. When we candled at lockdown, we only saw a couple move. The aircells were bigger than day 16.

My 13yo daughter is sooo exited - wife too. It's funny to here the kid tell the adult to not get nose smudges on the glass. Keeping chicks in the house for a couple weeks is going to be a lot easier than I thought.

Humidity is down to 31%. But it had been running in the low to mid 30's all this time. Not sure what to do.....ughhhhhh

I would probably just leave it until you notice a pip, but leave it locked down. Can you add water without opening the lid?

My little pip hasn't done much but I am told this is when it's absorbing the last of the yolk sac. I sort of hope it takes it's time so that the others have time to catch up and start pipping too.

No I cant add water without opening lid. Temp is staying steady and humidity is 32%. At first pip I will put in some sponges.
