setting eggs tonight!! anyone else?

I don't miss moving my tractors like that. I just turn mine out in the yard anymore. The only thing they use the tractors for is sleeping now. Of course, today they realized they could get into the neighbors yard... But he rooster took care of that. He doesn't like his ladies straying. ;)

And your son is adorable!! I'm sooo jealous of that tan skin! I'm as white as ... really white chick. :\

I'm a white chick too!

I sure think he's a cutey!

He looks like his daddy! Can you believe he sometimes sits in the doorway like that and does his math?? He said it helps him to relax-And, I say just so it gets done!

LaynaDon- Everything is looking good!

Cali- I love your playhouse coop! Your son is like mine. He ask me to take him to see the chicks a million times a day. He is a real chicken wrangler. He walks right up and picks them up. He is making a funny face here but still cute!

lol! The joys of homeschooling. ;) What public schooled kid gets to do math in a chicken coop? We are the lucky ones.

Corg, what a cutie! Brave little dude, catching those chickens for you. ;)

My baby cousin (1) like to come up with me to do the chicken chores. She "runs" around trying to catch them going "bawk! Here chick!" But in baby language of course. She's not very good at walking yet so she falls a lot. But she's a trooper. She just gets up, laughs and continues the chase. It's adorable!

I put my eggs in January 27th. Late that night to be exact. I loaded my incubator to capacity which is 288 stndard breed eggs.
I have Black Copper Marans, Blue Copper Marans, Barred Rocks, Light Brown Leghorns, and the rest are hybrid brown egg layers from RI Reds, Production Reds, Wyandottes, Americaunas, etc, etc.
I also have 4 Olandsk Dwarf eggs that I sure hope hatch.

Nope. :\ I really want them to hatch but I'm not getting my hopes up. I can't see into two of them and the other one looks like a big blood spot. I won't be too devastated seeing as I have 33 more developing. (I found a clear yesterday.)

You should have seen my 5 year old brother yesterday when I showed him a candled egg. he looked like this

"awwwww! He's sooooo cute!" in like a g sharp or something. It was so funny. I can't wait to hand him a hatched chick for the first time. I think I'll wear earplugs, though. :p

CALI CHICK - This is the first time I've had this many going at once. It's also the first time I've used an automatic turner, but only 1 incubator has that. I kind of like the hand turning better...feels more...I don't know...maternal?? LOL.

Anyway, I started the first incubator on 1-21, the second one on 1-26, and put the duck eggs in on the 29th. So my hatch dates are 2-11, 2-16, and 2-26. Once the first batch hatches, I plan to move the second batch over for lockdown. That way the ducks will remain at the right humidity until they're ready.
