Have you been busy doing all that schoolwork and chores that you got behind on during your last hatch??? Or, are you just playing with those little fluffballs? They are about a week old now. I bet they've been spoiled by your family.

Yep, I mix of all that. Amazing work piles up so much in such a short time... =P They are growing so fast! They have wing feathers and little stubby tail feathers already. :D One of the little Easter Eggers was making a very pitiful looking (yet very determined) attempt to fly out of the brooder this morning. He got about 5 inches off the ground.

Maybe. The brooder is 2 1/2 ft. tall.

I've set 51 eggs to hatch on March 8th this morning. :) There were 50 at first... then I walked out and saw my Barnevelder laying an egg on "FrankenFan" (Our big, broken industrial fan in the lean to shed) with only half of her bottom actually on the fan. I saw the egg get colored and then caught it before it hit the ground. I figured that little guy really wanted to make it, so I put him in the incubator. =P
I don't know what I'll do if all (I say "all" loosely) of them hatch. 0.0 Oh, bartering, how I love thee. We'll see what happens. :)

CALI Where are you? I bet your starring at the incubator. I need an update!!!

Layna I set eggs this morning too!!! Guess we are hatch buddies again!

Yep! I have been staring in that incubator-aLOT today. My head hurts, so I'm finding distractions around the house to keep me busy. We have family coming up this weekend so I'm deep cleaning a few rooms (mainly my son's).

No updates since my last post....Just the 2 pips. And they haven't gotten any bigger. I did see one tiny wiggle, but I usually just shine the light in and look for changes or more pips. On a good note, this Hovabator is so nice and consistant with temps and humidity.
How long before they start zipping????????? I know it can take awhile after the first pip, but I am SO anxious.

One of the "pipped" eggs is starting to zip. We see the shell lift up now and then. And there are new cracks! Wow-this is so cool!

Come on chickies!
How exciting!! My first to hatchling took like one minute from second pip to complete hatch. He was an eager little thing! Has yours hatched yet?? I want a pic!

She was on her back, flopping around when I took this picture.
