I dropped one of my developing eggs last night while turning... It cracked and so I opened it. (stupid idea) It had an eyeball and everything.![]()
I has a sad now. :'( It was already starting to look like a chick.
I'm so sorry that you dropped one.

Layna that sucks! Sorry you lost a good egg. But you got a peak at what's happening in there and experience.
Cali tonight at 8 starts day 7 for me. Rotating your lid sounds like a great idea because that moves the hot spots around if I'm following correctly. Very smart.
Do y'all think I should leave the clear eggs for a few more days? My gut says they are duds but my heart has hope lol
What incubator do you have? I'm using a Little Giant Still air incubator and it took me FOREVER to regulate it and I still haven't gotten it above 100. 101-102 is right for the still air (I guess because it doesn't circulate hot spots?)
At least you haven't dropped any...![]()
100 seems to be working fine for me. I'm sure yours would be fine too. Don't worry if the temp is unstable for the first few days. A mama hen can't keep it up all the time either.Eggs are a lot tougher than we think. As long as it stays between 99-102 I wouldn't worry.
