setting eggs tonight!! anyone else?

i dont have any pips nor rocking but then again they arent due till the 11th so not to worried about that just the due date and the day after, if i dont have any pips by the day after then yea my hopes will sink although i know they can hatch out later than that.

I was worried about the egg that had already pipped the air cell when I put it into lockdown last night because it had not pipped the shell. I took it out to candle for movement and nothing. I pipped the shell and the poor thing was gone. the eggtopsy revealed a normal looking chick with almost all the yolk absorbed. It must have not been strong enough.

I have 14 eggs left but Im sure a few quit before lockdown. The positive the pipped egg has made progress.

WOW- rocking on Day 19- great!!
I'm jealous- mine are due on Saturday also, and they're just s-i-t-t-i-n-g there.

Do I need to worry- I cannot get my humidity up past 65%.
I have a tall open plastic jar of water, a soaked sponge and filled all the troughs in the bottom of the still air bator.

We have rocking!!!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your chick. :( I'm glad the other pipped egg is doing well! Hopefully you'll have a chick soon! :D

It's more like wiggling than actual rocking... They movement had definitely decreased the later in the day it's gotten. Hopefully they'll pick back up tomorrow.

65% humidity is great for chicken eggs from what I've read. Seems like your doing well. :) I wouldn't worry.

With them starting to move and hatching soon should I take the thermometer off of them? It's the mercury thermometer with the clear plastic base. I don't want them to have to struggle with it to hatch out.

EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm super jealous that you all are in lockdown and just days away from baby chicks.
I'm watching your posts and rooting for great hatches.

Everything is the same here on Day 13. Still have 11 eggs in the bator. Every time I turn (3x a day) I candle one or two eggs and document the air cell size/shape/position & check for movement. I love my double candler!!!!!!!!

Because the lights are lying down, the tubes hold the egg like a vice-grip -not tight though! My friend was like, "How ingenious, I want one!". Anyway, I have nothing new to report. I go into lockdown on Valentine's Day and Hatch Day is next Friday (21st)
