setting eggs tonight!! anyone else?

Baby #3 hatched this morning @ 4:55 am. I see another pip on one of the tiny white eggs! It's amazing that a chick can fit in ANY of these eggs. They are the size of our pullet eggs. Hopefully this most recent pip will start zipping and we'll see more pips soon. I want to take the (hatched) chicks out so bad -to put them in the brooder. Of course, I best finish cleaning up the container since it's been outside for a few months.
Here is our newest hatchling, resting moments after her entrance into the world:

Oh I'd love to see all those Silkies hatch! I've only 3 Silky eggs in my 'bator. 2 Legg'ern mix+RIR, 9 Blue Cochin and 8 Blue Cochin mix. Wish I had more Silkie eggs but only have one female and she just doesn't lay that often.

Well, just did my last check to make sure everyone is o.k.

Got my four little chicks safely tucked under their new broody mom!

Elenore, my top prize winning Black Orp, the one that went broody just as I started collecting eggs is "the mom". None of my Orps hatched and I will separate for a show tomorrow so I'm thinking about purchasing some BBS orp eggs for the Easter hatch along. Why does the hatch along start on the 17 of March? To get chicks the day before Easter so the chicks are up and looking like chicks for the morning, right? I'll be at a show that weekend, if they ever post their entries!!!

Yup, just checked, they are a month out as of today and not book or entry form posted yet. Don't know when the entries are due but this is not the way to build a show. NOT THE WAY TO RUN A SHOW EITHER!!!

So, not sure how that might work out. Guess I shouldn't complain to loud as I don't have time to take on anything else. Plus it would be like work! Don't want to miss time to bad with shipped eggs. Kind of lurking around the auction part of the site to see if there is anything that interests me. The answer is YES!!!

I like too many and would like to try several but I'm trying to keep myself to one or two chicken projects (one or two breeds and maybe related colors). Plus the cows, that I also show and you know WORK!
I saw that some have gone right into another hatch and others are waiting for the Easter one.

What are you all hatching? When, if ever, do you put your bators away?

evrything you need for this hatch is on the first post, entry form, contest, rules, a map for those of us hatching, ect. i wont be incubating till the easter hatch but if i wanted to i could do stagered hatches as i have 2 incubators. idk really what i will be hacthing but its going to be eggs from the chickens outside and it all depends on how they lay and i will be collecting some for 7 days and some for only 3. hoping to get at least 24 for the best hatch rate contest

I moved the 4 hatched chicks into their brooder and they are drying and fluffing up nicely.
Look how tiny the last one is...she's just precious. Will, they all are!

Two of the 4 silkies kept doing the splits so my husband helped me put Band-aid splints on their little legs. They were moving around before but their legs would slide outward with every step. They can still stand (and kind of walk/hobble) with the band-aid but they do alot of somersaults. Hope they get stronger.

6 eggs still in the bator....

but , I'm holding out. Maybe they're just late.
