setting eggs tonight!! anyone else?

I've got them temporarily fixed up in the tractor right now. It's really warm outside so I figured they could spend some extra time out there today. They are sooo cute. The oldest are trying out their wings. The younger ones, that are about 4 days old, are copying them, and they only have like two wing feathers a piece at the moment. It's so adorable.

The chicks stayed out happily in their tractor for 21/2 hours or so. They would have stayed out longer, but when I went our to check on them 2 of the 3 tractors had been knocked over by the wind! Needless to say, I freaked out. Their tractor was the only one that stayed upright, thank God! I had my sister put them back into the brooder while I chased down the three fighting bantam roosters. -_- They get along fine as long as "FeatherFeet" (the one we are going to eat) stays in his tractor. But, of course, with it being knocked over, he didn't. Grr. Why can't they get along?

@ LaynaDon - This is my first time hatching ducklings, but I think they have the same type of "tooth" for breaking the shell.

I went home during my lunch today and 3 of the eggs were rocking! I so hope I have at least 1 pipped when I get home today!

Ooh, neat! I hope you get a good hatch. Rocking is so exciting!! Do ducklings "peep" (quack)... Ok, no, question 1) Do duckling peep or quack? 2) Do the peep or quack in their shells like chicks?
I will hopefully be getting Muscovies in a few weeks, so I wanna learn everything I can between now and then.

Well, I may or may not have just fixed the watery eye problem in my chick...

While flushing his eye with saline water I saw a bit of fuzz stuck in the corner of his eye, I pulled it out. It went right back in. I pulled it out again. Even more came out, then went right back in. I had to use tweezers and cuticle scissors to pull the fuzz out and cut it off before it went back in. There was a LOT of fuzz in his eye. Apparently the fuzz around his eye grows in a way that it sticks into his eye. Poor little guy. His eye looks better already. I think my eyes would be a little watery if I had a hairball in them, to!
I hope that's all it was. I'm pretty sure it is though. I guess I have to keep his eye hair trimmed!

I don't have much hope for my eggs. :\ They don't look the be developing correctly for some reason. Maybe it's to soon to say, but I think I'm about to get a taste of what a real hatch rate is like.
